Analyse Photos / RAW Photos & Images

The photo formats we currently support are detailed as follows:

  • JPEG: We currently support the JPG/JPEG photo formats. JPEG stands for “Joint Photographic Experts Group”. It's a standard image format for containing lossy and compressed image data. JPEG files can also contain high-quality image data with a lossless compression.
  • PNG: We currently support PNG files since mid May 2020. PNG stands for “Portable Graphics Format”. This lossless data compression format was created to replace the Graphics Interchange Format (GIF). PNG file format is an open format with no copyright limitations. Like GIF images, PNG also have the ability to display transparent backgrounds.
  • WebP:: We currently support WebP photos since November 2021. WebP is an image format developed by Google and first announced in September 2010 as a new open format for lossy compressed images. Later in 2011 Google extended the WebP image format to support lossless compression images. WebP supports both lossy and lossless compressions, animations, transparency, colour profiles and embedding metadata.
  • HEIC: There has been plans to support HEIC files. HEIC is the file format name Apple has chosen for the new HEIF standard. HEIF stands for "High Efficiency Image Format", and, as the name suggests, is a more streamlined way of storing image files. Using advanced, modern compression methods it allows digital photographs to be created in smaller files sizes, all while retaining higher image quality than its JPEG alternative.

snapWONDERS Vaultify — Hide & Conceal Digital Media

Yes. Vaultify is one of the very few steganography platforms with native darknet support. It runs on the same Tor hidden service and I2P address as snapWONDERS — accessible directly from Tor Browser or an I2P router with no configuration needed.

See Browsing Safely for our official Tor and I2P addresses.

It only takes a few steps:

  1. Go to Vaultify — Hide a File.
  2. Upload the photo or video you want to use as the cover (the one that will be shared).
  3. Upload the file or files you want to conceal inside it.
  4. Set a strong password. This is the only key to unlocking the hidden content — keep it safe.
  5. Download your new photo. It looks identical to the original but now carries your hidden files encrypted inside it.

No account is required to try Vaultify.

If someone has sent you a photo made with Vaultify, or you want to retrieve files you previously concealed:

  1. Go to Vaultify — Reveal Hidden Files.
  2. Upload the photo or video that contains the hidden files.
  3. Enter the password used when the file was hidden.
  4. Download the extracted files.

Without the correct password the hidden content cannot be extracted or even confirmed to exist.

Vaultify uses AES military-grade encryption before embedding. Even if someone suspected a photo had been processed with steganography, they would not be able to extract or read the hidden content without the correct password.

The cover photo itself shows no visible difference to the naked eye. For sensitive use cases we recommend using Vaultify over Tor or I2P so that even the act of uploading and downloading is private.

These features have moved to snapWONDERS Vaultify. All old snapWONDERS links for regenerate, scrub, hide, anonymise, and fix-copyright automatically redirect to Vaultify so nothing is broken — you will land in the right place.

Vaultify is the dedicated platform for concealing and protecting digital media. It is faster, more capable, and actively developed. Your old workflows are fully supported there.

Yes — Vaultify is free to try with no account required. You can hide and reveal files right away on vaultify.snapwonders.com.

Larger file limits and additional features are available on paid plans. See the pricing page for details.

snapWONDERS is undergoing a modernisation. Our core analysis and conversion services remain here — but some features are moving to a new, purpose-built platform.

  • Staying on snapWONDERS: Deep photo and video analysis, metadata inspection, steganography detection, format conversion.
  • Moving to Vaultify: All hide, conceal, regenerate, scrub, anonymise, and copyright-stamping features are now part of snapWONDERS Vaultify. Old snapWONDERS links for these features automatically redirect to Vaultify.
  • Coming soon: A unified account system across both platforms, and a mobile app.

For the full picture see What’s Changing →

Vaultify is our steganography platform — it lets you hide and conceal files inside any ordinary photo or video. The secret files are encrypted with military-grade AES encryption and locked behind a password you choose. To anyone else, the photo looks completely normal. Only someone who knows the password can unlock and extract what is hidden inside.

Vaultify is available on vaultify.snapwonders.com, and also works over Tor and I2P for maximum privacy.

Vaultify supports hiding virtually any file type — documents, spreadsheets, archives (ZIP, TAR), images, audio, video, PDFs, and more. Multiple files can be hidden inside a single cover photo at once.

The cover image itself can be a JPEG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF. Cover videos are also supported. The resulting file looks and behaves like a normal photo when viewed by anyone without the password.

A unified account system across snapWONDERS and Vaultify is part of what’s coming. For now, Vaultify has its own account registration and you can use it without any account at all for basic hide and reveal operations.

Follow progress on the What’s Changing page — account unification is one of the milestones listed there.
